Église Saint Joseph

L'église paroissiale est consacrée à Saint Joseph, père putatif de Jésus Christ. La présence de pièces de monnaie découvertes dans les fondations de l'église ont permis de dater la constrution originelle du XII° siècle. Elle serait dûe aux seigneurs de Binio et était dédiée à Saint Marc. L'édifice que vous pouvez visiter actuellement a été consacré le 28 octobre 1868.

Comme toutes communes, de nombreux éléments patrimoniaux augannais ont disparu avec les siècles ; le plus connu d'entre eux étant certainement le château du Bois-du-Loup qui fut détruit non par les allemands mais délibérément par les américains en 1945 !

Nous pouvons aussi citer la Croix du Tremble ainsi que plusieurs Croix de Chemins. Nous n'oublierons pas la chapelle privée du château de Beaurepaire qui a disparu ainsi que le hameau du Bois-du-Loup et la chapelle privative du château, eux aussi devenus amas de pierres...
