Bâtisse au village du Pomet

Alors que ses aieux furent de bons et honnêtes seigneurs, Guillaume de Mévouillon - 1319-1356, fils de Raymbaud de la Chaup, seigneur de Ribiers, de Val-de-Barret et autres terres limitrophes, se lança dans le racket, le kidnapping et méfaits, sans scrupules. L'administration du Dauphin ne se fit pas oublier.

Lors de vos visites à Val-Buëch-Méouge, il vous faudra visiter Pomet, ancienne commune offrant un panorama incomparable sur les Gorges de Méouge. Vous y verrez l'ancienne mairie qui faisait aussi office d'école; la cour, minuscule, est sur le côté droit lorsque vous regardez le bâtiment. Vous y verrez aussi un arbre de la Liberté, au tronc énorme, planté lors de la Révolution et étêté depuis.

Vous y penserez aussi aux multiples souffrances infligées aux habitants et voyageurs de la région par Guillaume de Mévouillon, seigneur de triste mémoire. Son repaire se situait sur le promontoire où est édifiée l'église, actuellement privée.
