⌘ Étymologies et toponymes

C'est en 1500, pour la première fois connue dans les écrits, qu'est signalé le village des Costes, en occitan Las Còstas.

Ce toponyme est alors au singulier bien qu'il soit utilisé en pluriel, forme sous laquelle on le retrouve en 1508 dans le rôle des décimes du diocèse de Gap.
