Chapelle Saint Guénael

Il ne reste plus rien du monastère édifié par Saint Guénael en ce lieu - sauf les pans de murs sud et nord qui percés de petites fenêtres en plein cintre et très évasées sur l'intérieur sont signes de leur ancienneté ; il fut totalement rasé par les Normands. Les moines de Saint Gildas de Rhuys y ont édifié une petite chapelle dédiée à Gwenael. ll reste la fontaine et un coin bien agréable. Les moines choisirent ce coin non sans raisons ; il paraît que la terre est si bonne qu'il suffisait de jeter un noyau pour en voir pousser l'arbre fruitier. Si les fruits ont laissé place aux construction, le site garde toujours beaucoup de charme.

Le parc du Plessis

Ce grand parc arboré se trouve au centre de Lanester. Ce parc de 12h, anciennement, était propriété privée et fut rachetée par la commune en 1973. Ce site fut longtemps le siège de la Seigneurie du Kenkiz - Plessis en breton. La famille Geffroy de Villeblanche, les derniers proprétaires, y vivait encore avant la 2° guerre mondiale. Le château contemporain, datant du XVIII° fut détruit pendant les bombardements de la région lorientaise.

Parc à bois de Saint Isidore

La construction maritime de l'époque imposait la présence d'un stock de bois à proximité et prêt à l'usage. Les pièces de bois étaient fixées sur ces pieux immergées ou émergées au rythme des marées. Après avoir sorti les pièces, ils fallait les garder 2 ans à l'air pour leur laisser le temps de sécher. Ce site est le dernier de France. Le stock de tôles maritimes se trouve maintenant derrière la rue Capitaine de Mauduit, toujours en Lanester.
