Ah ! ce fut à la Sainte-Cécile,
Qu'on rigola dans la ville,
D'avoir appris qu'un mulet
Dans un grenier s'promenait,
Vive le bon mul' mul' mul' le bon mulet (bis).

Depuis lontemps que j'compose des pasquilles,
Parole d'honneur, jamais aucun sujet
Ne fut choisi pour être aussi facile;
Voyez le titre : c'est l'affaire d'un mulet.

L'hiver dernier, l'mulet rempli d'adresse,
Sans faire de bruit va franchir l'escalier,
Tout comme un homme connaissant le trapèze,
Fit trois, quat'sauts, puis le v'ià dans l'grenier.

Enfin en haut, l'mulet faisait tapage,
Ceux de la maison croyaient à des voleurs,
Vont voir là-haut ainsi que l'voisinage,
C'était l'mulet qui bouffait d'un bon coeur.
On peut bien dire qu'il possède la malice,
Car dans les champs c'est un capricieux,
Faut frapper d'ssus tellement qu'il a du vice,
C'est assez drôle et parfois malheureux.

Mais si parfois on recommence la guerre,
Vlà l'mulet pris, c'est certain, il est bon,
Dans la mobile, j'doute que l'vétérinaire
Va l'désigner pour passer au dragon.

Avant d'finir, j'espère qu'à l'Sainte-Cécile,
On n'verra plus dans l'grenier, c'est certain,
Car pour l'descendre ce n'est pas trop facile,
Puis finirait par dompter les voisins.
