Serres est la seule commuen des Hautes-Alpes, et une rare de France, à avoir une Méridienne. Une Méridienne est un cadra solaire, généralement vertical, donnant l'heure de midi à une date fixée, par exemple le 1° de chaque mois. La méridienne de Serres fut réalisée par un certain Chavin en 1882. Elle donne le midi solaire tous les 1° jour des 12 mois de l'année ; bien sûr si le ciel n'est pas couvert ce jour-là !

Le Tombeau du Juif

Le seul monument lithique rappelant la vie des communautés juives dauphinoises du XIV° siècle se trouve à Serres. Vous pourrez découvrir cette massive pierre tombale en suivant le sentier fléché dit 'Sentier du Moine'. Il vous fait grimper vers le Pic de la Pignolette. Le tombeau du juif se situe après la vieille chapelle et le petit cimetière familial abandonné.

L'inscription - déchiffrée - signifie 'Rabbi Joseph, fils de Rabbi Natanel d'heureuse mémoire' est un émouvant témoignage du passé et nous appelle à la réflexion...

Maison de Lesdiguières
