Le monument aux morts de Ristolas se trouve près de la mairie de la commune. Une obélisque couronnée d'une croix de guerre 1914-1918 voit un drapeau frangé en berne au bout de sa hampe. Sur les pans latéraux de l'obélisque, la liste douloureuses des jeunes et moins jeunes de la commune, morts glorieux de Ristolas.

Les Monuments aux Morts rappellent les soldats morts pour le pays lors des derniers conflits. C'est la guerre franco-prussienne de 1870-1871 qui verront apparaître les premiers Monuments aux Morts du pays.

Toutes les communes de France ou presque voient leur monument édifié après la guerre de 1914-1918. L'épitaphe la plus courante est Morts pour la France sauf l'Alsace-Lorraine qui grave un Morts à la Guerre bien compréhensif.

Les Monuments aux Morts sont souvent oubliés lors de nos visites ; pourtant ils sont tranche d'Histoire importante et douloureux rappel des folies humaines.
