Locquénolé, en breton Lokenole, nous est atttesté dès l'an 1099 sous la forme Lancolvett. Nous le retrouverons en l'an 1163 sous sa forme latine Ecclesia Sancti Guingaloci puis sous la forme Locus Guennolay en 1330.
