⌘ Étymologies et toponymes

Larmor-Plage, en breton An Arvor, doit son toponyme à son église, Itron Varia an Arvor - Notre-Dame de Larmor. An Arvor - l'Armor en français, est la facette maritime de la Bretagne ; l'autre facette du pays est An Argoat - l'Argoat en français. L'Argoat est tout ce qui n'est pas de l'Arvor.

L'Église, monument le plus ancien de la commune, est signalé en 1430 avec un Locmaria-Annarvor dans les archives de la seigneurie de Coardor. C'est dans ces mêmes archives que nous lirons de nouveau ce toponyme avec un Locmaria-Larmor en 1477 ; ceci étant lieu étant consacré à Marie de la Mer.
