⌘ Étymologies et toponymes

An Drinded-Surzhur a été francisé en La Trinité-Surzur.

Comme tous les toponymes existant sur le territoire français, les langues locles étant méprisées, les plus anciennes formes de ce toponyme sont en français et c'est en 1902 que la forme naturelle - en breton, est attestée dans les écrits. Le village est signalé au XVIII° siècle avec un La Trinité de la Lande puis en 1811, date signalant le bourg. Nous pourrons noter - sur les Cartes des Cassini, un La Trinité succ - succ étant abréviation reprise en 1815, puis l'utilisation de la forme actuelle en 1844. Surzur permet de différencier ce bourg des autres bourgs éponymes.

Il est aisé de comprendre le sens de cette Trinité qui fait référence à la Trinité Chrétienne.
