Dormillouse

 Lat: 44.737567° - Long: : 6.444307° - Dormillouse - Hameau remarquable - Vous devrez suivre la route jusqu'au fond de vallée - parking, puis marcher un peu pour atteinde le hameau de Dormillouse. Si vous êtes bon marcheur, n'hésitez pas à emprunter l'ancien chemin qui démarre juste après le hameau des Mensals, un parking est aménagé. ⤇ €

Situé au coeur des écrins, Dormillouse est un hameau chargé d'Histoire. Ici Félix Neffes, pasteur genevois, ouvrit une école destinée à la formation des instituteurs en 1826. Internationale, elle y accueillait nombre d'étrangers qui étaient logés gratuitement par les habitants. Le refuge actuel est situé dans l'ancienne école et jouxte le temple construit par Félix Neffes.
Dormillouse est une bonne base de départ pour effectuer de splendides balades dans le parc des Écrins.

Moulin de Dormillouse

Visitant le hameau de Dormillouse, vous devez visiter le moulin et imaginer la vie du hameau, il n'y a pas tant d'années que celà...
En 1835, il y avait 4 moulins au village; celui que vous visiterez est le dernier et était encore en exploitation il y a peu de temps. Remarquez le bief, il amenait l'eau du Chichin, le torrent qui coule à ses pieds, jusqu'au moulin; vous pouvez longer le canal sur une partie de son cours. L'intérieur a conservé sa machinerie, sa meule et, après quelques révisions, pourrait sans doute encore fonctionner. Remarquez la position de la roue à aube qui, ici et c'est plus rare, est horizontale. Prévoyez une lampe.
