⌘ Étymologies et toponymes

Assé-le-Bérenger nous apparaît au VIII° siècle avec un Aciagus. Le IX° siècle nous découvre un Ecclesias dedicavit de Asiaco signalé par Dom Jean Mabillon dans ses papiers vers 1700. L'an 752 nous fait connaitre un Villa de Aciago puis ce toponyme, sous formes et spécifications diverses est régulièrement cité. 1229 voit un premier Homines capituli de Aceio-le-Berengier connu dans les écrits ; avec un four de Ascé-le-Berangier en 1284 qui voit ce Bérengier définitivement accolé au toponyme initial.
